Bentonville City Council
To the Citizens of Bentonville, and to the Mayor of Bentonville, I pledge to be an entrusted Bentonville citizen on the City Council who will make informed, sound and experienced decisions on behalf of ALL Bentonville citizens.

Accomplishments

Organically navigated tech business through "start-up" phase, then through the recession, and now through a period of growth. Went from 4 employees to currently 20+ employees, and won the 2012 Bentonville / Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce "Main Street Business of the Year" Award, in which there are over 500 business members.

    To represent all Bentonville Citizens of our dynamic City, with honor and integrity, as we strategically manage and promote the abundance of growth in which we've been blessed.

    To assist City employees in both elected and non-elected positions, with decisions concerning city growth, city challenges, new city ideas, and to be accountable for our decisions and actions.
  • 3.
    When necessary, to ask uncomfortable questions of our City employees, in a tactful manner.
  • 4.
    To reasonably and responsibly spend City budgeted money, in which the Citizens contribute, as well as any other monies that are the City's responsibilities.
  • Church Member
    Been a member of one local church, and involved in several churches, in Bentonville, for the past 17 years.
  • Long Time Local
    The Thomas children have attended Bentonville Public Schools their whole lives: David K - 12 is now a sophomore at the UofA, Matthew K - 12 is now a senior at BHS, and Lydia K - 8 is in 8th grade at Lincoln Jr. High.
  • Family Man
    Married to wife, Sherry, for 28 years, and enjoy friends socially in the Bentonville / Bella Vista area. Sherry (maiden name Townzen) was raised in Bentonville, and graduated from BHS in 1984.

professional experience

January 1995

Became self-employed / the only employee in a technology business in the Bentonville / Bella Vista area.

June 2003

With business partner Gino Capito, purchased long-time Bentonville technology company Dixieland Computers, and formed TeleComp. For 10 years, this business leased space at 1720 S Walton Blvd (by the Post Office). 1/3 of the business' customers are Walmart Suppliers.

February 2010

Roger was the 2nd Volunteer of "AMAZEUM", starting in 2007, only behind Founder Jim Demaree, on the "grass roots" campaign / committee. Roger was later appointed to the Vice President of the Board of Directors in 2010 and served in that capacity through 2012.

March 2013

Purchased commercial real estate in Downtown Bentonville, 207 S Main St, and relocated TeleComp to this location.
